I have Harvest House interested in "Flannery's Secret" and so the race is on to get it done.
But alas I have so many events to do for my day job as the Maury County (Tennessee) Representative for TENNder Care that I can't take my laptop and write on the move.
So here comes my Charlie to the rescue. He gets me a Droid Tablet!
It came last Friday and it hasn't left my side. Downloading EverNote I am now electronic tied to my laptop, Droid phone as well as my tablet. Now I can take pictures of houses, cars and whatever hits me to add to my visual library of Flannery's life. I can write down people’s stories of their childhoods that they share with me- right away. I also have a daily journal that is being kept off my computer in case it crashes. AND (get this) EVERNOTE IS FREE!
Yesterday we sat in a dealership while Mr. Charlie tried to get me a new car- I wrote almost 1000 words for the book. Believe me they still need to be edited and placed in a better order- I think of it like a detailed outline on the go. But I am working on the book. I am on Chapter Three in fact. Not bad considering a month ago I had just few lines done.
I have always encouraged writers and folks who keep a diary to use pen to paper. And I still believe that to be true. Pen to paper is becoming a lost art. Our children need to know what our penmanship was like, but this electronic connection in Evernote is keeping me on track and – more importantly- focused.
We will have to see what the next 30 days will bring in my newest writing adventure.
Oh, and I have to share with you. Mr. Charlie gave me the tablet so I could access my novels and articles at all times. Imagine his chagrin at 4am on Saturday he woke up to find me with the tablet on my lap in bed writing my article for the Spirit of Giles Newspaper!
