The air conditioner isn't running so much, people are beginning to harvest their back yard gardens. I am looking at the ways to decorate my house for the upcoming holiday season. Yep, Fall is right around the corner!
This is what I missed when I lived in Florida all those years. There were no seasons there. Well, there was- Hot and not so hot. Rain and humid. Hurricanes and monsoons. But fall, here in Tennessee, I get to watch the leaves turn color. I watch the animals outside my office window run and dig for food to last them the winter. There is a special squirrel, whom I am sure is the one who lives in our attic, is quite the leaper from branch to branch.
This fall means so much to me as my daughter will have her first fall season in her life. She was born and raised in Florida so for her the magic of watching green turn to gold, red, yellow and orange will be quite the experience for her and her children.
Football is huge in Tennessee, the high schools are in full swing of things. I had the honor to serve on the Board of Directors for the Maury County Fair this year. During some of the events we could hear the cheers for the Columbia Lions High School football game. The next night one of the middle schools played. It seemed that a lot of people had to make a decision to go to the game or come to the fair. Let's face it... deep fried ANYTHING for me beats out football!
I am beginning to reach out to my community, attempting to become more a part of the city which means so much to me. To know I am making a community, making a difference in my small way gives me great pleasure. I won't run for office, I don't argue politics with too many people- but to make my community fun, safe and to establish places people can go- well that means a lot to me. At the same time to provide food is also at my heart! As you can see- fair food has had a wonderful effect on me....
I pray you revel in the season you are in right now. You are in it for a reason. Rejoice and know that God is God. Have great season! (Go Colts!)
